    SKU: NYE57

This is a fine antique set of matching metal caps (fuchi-gashira) that are at either ends of the handle of the Japanese sword. The base metal of the set is the copper-gold alloy (shakudō) with an exceptionally fine base texture. The design is that of the Autumn Season done with fine gold inlay highlights. The set was made by a goldsmith (kinkō) artist of the Ko-Mino group. They date from the Muromachi Period circa 15th to mid-16th Centuries.
