Large Lacquer Display Box

This is large modern late Shōwa Period lacquer display box. The black lacquer box front cover is decorated with a flower design done with clear lacquer mixed with gold powder and an inlay of mother of pearl. The lacquer display box was traditionally made in Aizu the westernmost region of Fukushima Prefecture, Japan as stated on the inside makers label.
Product Information
The modern lacquer display box likely made with a wooden base measures 28 cm (11 inches) long by 24 cm (9.4 inches) wide. Overall it is in great conditions but has a few minor scratches mostly on the bottom of the box due to its regular use.
