Japanese Sword Handle Ornaments (menuki) of Roosters
They are antique Japanese sword handle ornaments (menuki) dating from the late Edo Period circa the late 18th to mid-19th century. They are made of finely polished copper-gold alloy (shakudō). The design of the set is that of Roosters.
The handle ornaments are unsigned. The of the ornaments measures 3.2 cm (1.3 inches) long. The condition of the antique ornament is excellent. They date from the late Edo Period. The custom wooden storage box in the fourth photograph is included in the sale.
