Iron Handguard (Tsuba)
This is handguard (tsuba) made of forged iron with a wonderful patina and dark luster. It was made to fit a long sword (katana). The handguard has a heavily hammer and worked surface. The design is plain on the plate of the handguard.
This handguard is the work of the Myōchin School. It was made likely during late Edo Period circa early to mid-19th century.
The handguard is unsigned by the artist who made it. It measures 8.8 cm (3.5 inches) wide by 9.2 cm (3.7 inches) high. It is 6.3 mm (0.3 inches) thick at the rim. The condition is excellent.

Returns are accepted during a three-day inspection period starting upon acceptance of the item with a 10% restocking fee of the original purchase price.
