Contemporary Lacquerware (Urushi) Display Plate


The word 'Japan' in English has two meaning on is the country Japan itself the other meaning is 'lacquerware'.  Like how the word 'China' is used.  This is a fine contemporary lacquerware (urushi) display plate.  It has a very lovely Spring theme of cherry blossoms in the in gold, pink, and red lacquer over a thick rich dark lacquer base.  It would make a fine display piece on someone’s desk or mantel.

    It is unsigned by the artist who made it.  The lacquerware plate measures 16 cm long by 12.3 cm wide.  The plate is about 1.3 cm deep.  Lacquerware care instructions are including in the paper storage box.
