Brass Sword Handguard (Tsuba)
This handguard (tsuba) has carved designs of Japanese chess (shogi) upon radiating background of carved lines. The same design is continued on the reverse side of the handguard showing more game pieces. It is made of modern brass alloy and sized to fit a long sword (katana). It was made during the Showa Period circa early to late 20th Century by a professional sword fittings maker.
The handguard measures 7.5 cm (2.9 inches) wide by 8.0 cm (3.1 inches) high. The rim of the handguard is 0.5 cm (0.2 inches) thick. The handguard is unsigned by the artist who made it. the condition is excellent with no damage.

Returns are accepted during a three-day inspection period starting upon acceptance of the item with a 10% restocking fee of the original purchase price. Items wanting to be returned after this three-day inspection period can be purchased back at a discounted price at the discretion of the management of Rain Dragon Art and Antiques, LLC.
