Custom Framed Woodblock Print by Utagawa Kunisada
This is an antique multicolor woodblock print (ukiyo-e) depicting a Nō theater actor playing the role of court nobleman. The artist of the print is Utagawa Kunisada who lived from 1786-1864 CE in the capital city of Edo.
The woodblock print is 18 cm (7.1 inches) wide by 35.5 cm (14.0 inches) long. The print who some foxing and staining of the paper that is age appropriate. The vintage frame which shows some minor scuffs is 43 cm (17.2 inches) wide by 54.4 cm (21.4 inches) long. The print is signed by the artist Utagawa Kunisada.
